FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions:

Is marula oil cold pressed and is it refined or unrefined?

Our marula oil is cold-pressed and unrefined to keep more of the oil’s natural antioxidants, fatty acids and nutrients.  This happens because it is processed with minimal heat and refining.

We prefer this method because it helps nourish the skin barrier, reduce moisture loss and give the skin a softer, healthier-looking glow while still feeling lightweight on the skin.

Our marula oil is certified organic by the USDA, Control Union and the EU Control Union.

Marula oil has no documented health risks (1) however, as with any product used on the skin, a patch test should be carried out, especially in the case of a nut or fruit allergy sufferer.

This is completely normal and happens due to temperature fluctuations in products that do not contain preservatives, emulsifiers etc.

This harmless, common reaction is not a sign of spoilage and can be remedied by gently warming up the balm on your skin or leaving it in a warm place temporarily.

Giving it a good stir can help too as can placing it in the fridge for a few hours and then returning it to room temperature.

Usually visible results are seen between 7 – 10 days however everyone’s skin will react differently.   The most important factor is consistency.
